What Compare Does

Compare runs a full VektorAI audit on your page and up to three competitor pages simultaneously. It then places every score and check result side by side so you can instantly spot where competitors outperform you — and by how much. According to SEMrush research, 68% of successful SEO strategies begin with comprehensive competitor analysis.

  • +Side-by-side SEO, AEO, GEO, and Performance scores for up to 4 URLs at once

  • +Available exclusively on the Pro plan

“Competitive analysis is not about copying — it is about identifying gaps in your strategy that others have already solved.”

— Rand Fishkin, SparkToro

How to Create a Comparison

Creating a comparison takes less than a minute. Follow these steps:

  1. 1

    Open the Compare tool

Navigate to Dashboard → Compare → New Comparison.

  2. 2

    Enter your URL

Paste the public URL of the page you want to benchmark. This is your baseline.

  3. 3

    Add competitor URLs

Add up to 3 competitor URLs. These can be direct competitors, pages ranking for the same keywords, or any pages you want to measure against.

  4. 4

    Run the comparison

Click Compare and VektorAI will audit all pages simultaneously. Results appear in under a minute.

What You See

After a comparison finishes, you get three key views:

Score Comparison Table

A table showing your SEO, AEO, GEO, and Performance scores next to each competitor. Scores are color-coded so you can immediately see where you lead and where you trail. Each category is broken down into its individual checks so you get granular visibility, not just a top-line number.

Gap Analysis

The gap analysis surfaces every check where at least one competitor passes and you fail. This lets you zero in on the exact issues holding you back. Each gap entry shows which competitors pass, the severity of the issue, and the category it belongs to. For example, comparing your blog against three competitors might reveal they all have FAQ schema while you do not — a quick win you can implement in minutes.

Priority Fixes

Fixes are ranked by competitive impact — the issues where the most competitors outperform you appear first. This means you always work on the changes that will close the biggest gaps between you and the competition.

Gap Analysis in Detail

What does gap analysis reveal?

Saving Comparisons

Every comparison you run is automatically saved to your dashboard. You can revisit any comparison at any time from Dashboard → Compare. This makes it easy to track progress over time — run a new comparison after making changes to see how your scores have shifted relative to the competition. According to Search Engine Journal (2025), most websites lag behind their top competitors by 10–20 points on AI readiness metrics, making competitive benchmarking a critical first step.

Use Cases

Competitive Analysis Before a Redesign

Before starting a site redesign, compare your current page against the top competitors in your space. The gap analysis becomes your technical spec — a checklist of every optimization your new design should include from day one.

Pitching Clients (Agencies)

Use Compare to show a prospective client exactly how their site stacks up against their competitors. The side-by-side scores and gap analysis make a compelling case for why they need your services — backed by real data, not opinions.

Tracking Progress Over Time

Run the same comparison periodically to see how you are closing the gap. As you implement fixes, your scores will improve relative to competitors. Saved comparisons let you look back and measure exactly how much ground you have gained.
